We're sorry to bother you again with this matter, but Lavasoft has asked us through their lawyer to correct our last news statement. I'm not sure what was wrong there, but for the sake of peace I will comply.
Lavasoft states that our news about their handling of the situation are incorrect. What did we say? We did say that they did not react to our attempts of contacting them for a whole week, and that is correct - we received an autoreply, but no further answer to our emails. We haven't said that they did not correct their error, as they are saying we did - if you read the recent news, you'll see that we actually mention and link where they posted their status of the problem.
Furthermore they said our comments about CSI would be improper. CSI stands for Code Sequence Identification. Identifying code sequences is something that anti-virus apps already were capable of a dozen years back in DOS times, so the name describes something that actually isn't brand new. We didn't say that it is a bad technology - in fact we said we are indentifying code sequences among other things as well - so I'm not sure where the improper factor in that statement is.
As a last thing, they asked us to remove any reference to Lavasoft as an Element 5 customer in our news of January 17th. This has been corrected.
I hope that satisfies your hunger of a public correction?
