There's a false positive Microsoft AntiSpyware has about the immunization part of our software. This is not new, and while our first complaint to Microsoft wasn't answered at all, mentioning this false positive at an Anti Spyware Coalition meeting at least provoked a reaction - on May 25th they actually responded they would "check it out right away".
It's been four weeks now, and Microsoft didn't care to say anything further - neither did they confirm or deny the bug, nor requested any further information. I guess it's nothing new that big companies are slow, but I thought I should post this as a sign how serious Microsoft takes bugs in their software that are actually reducing the security of their users (and of course Microsoft does also benefit from this bug, as they can tell their users it would be ours, not theirs, and people should uninstall Spybot-S&D - as they do in the letter mentioned in May 25th news).
Update on 22nd: This actually got Microsoft moving, even though the answer is a bit weird. Microsoft answered: "The Microsoft AntiSpyware (beta) does not monitor changes made to the restricted zone of IE.". So this is great news to all our users who experience this bug: please don't believe your eyes! You're actually hallucinating and this message from Microsoft AntiSpyware did exist only in your minds.
